My Roots
Hi and welcome! I’m Jan, the designer and creator of these unique floor coverings. I create hand painted pieces that will last for generations. White Birch Canvas Rugs began as an idea in the house I built from scratch with my husband, Michael. Our home, where we live with our yellow lab, Tucker, can be found in the hills of the Monadnock region of Southwestern New Hampshire. I’m an outdoor enthusiast, that uses nature as my inspiration. Nature is its own original artwork. My hope is that I can transport people to that magical place where nature takes me.

My rugs are made upon receipt of your order. They take roughly 8 weeks for completion. It's best before ordering to contact me for more information about the particular rug that you're interested in purchasing.

Custom orders
A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of one half down on all custom orders is required.
Most of my designs shown on the website can be changed in multiple ways, and I'd love to help you decide what works best for you. For instance, some design placements will change depending on the size of rug—not all of my patterns work in all sizes. Many colors can be changed as well.
